FAQ

What is WMA School Camp?
School Camp is our solution to remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are open from 6 am to 6 pm to provide a focused learning environment for your children so that they can complete schoolwork to train their brains and receive Taekwondo lessons to strengthen their bodies and build character!

We are an UNLICENSED childcare facility, which means students may come and go at any time. We are also not a tutoring facility. However, we can help students remember their schedules, deal with technical difficulties with technology and the internet, and keep them on task so they can succeed in this new learning situation.

What about drop off/pick up if schools go hybrid?
We have experience with hybrid scheduling and will offer both drop off and pick up for select schools at no extra cost for camp students.

Is the program safe?
We continue to stay updated and follow both CDC and Department of Education guidelines. All students and staff are required to wear masks indoors and maintain social distancing of 3 feet or more. In addition, students are required to report positive cases or exposures. Finally, we have plenty of disinfectant and hand sanitizer around to clean inorganic and organic surfaces!

Will my child under 10 need to wear a mask?
Yes, all students and staff will wear masks indoors, in addition to social distancing of at least 3 feet. When the weather is nice, we will train outside without masks and with 10 feet of social distancing.

Who can enroll in WMA School Camp?
Normally, our Before & After School Program is limited to only a certain number of schools due to pick up logistics. However, since we do not need to do this during camp, we can take students from any school, ages 5-12. Keep in mind that we cannot pick up from all schools in the hybrid model - send us a message to see if your school is on our pick up list!

Will school supplies be provided?
Students will need to bring their own laptops and tablets with chargers. They will also need headphones with microphones to avoid distracting other students.

In order to avoid contact risk, we ask that students bring their own pencils, paper, and other school supplies. We will have a few on hand in case someone forgets, but parents should not depend on this. We also ask that families provide most of these supplies so that we can keep camp affordable.
